Schachmann Solid at Vuelta prelude
The top favorite from Slovenia has won all the time trials of the Vuelta since 2019 and was also on the short distance with the start and aim at the impressive Cathedral of the North Spanish city.
Schachmann does not have the overall standings in the Vuelta. Instead, the Berliner wants to drive on stage victories and go into the remaining season races with the World Cup in Flanders as well as the Lombardy tour.
On the second stage on Sunday it should come to a broadcast. The 166.7 kilometers from Caluega to Burgos have no difficulties. A German Sprinter with chances is not at the start in Spain.
The Vuelta ends on 5 September with a single time trial in Santiago de Compostela. In the overall standings, a duel between defending champion Roglic and Colombia's Giro winner Egan Bernal is expected in the tours occupied with many top stars. Bernal also has the Olympic champion and Tour-Third Richard Carapaz from Ecuador in his team.
