Ea gibt accessibility
Finally, really good news: Electronic Arts gives all other developers free access to all EA patents that have accessibility in games. So not only the own games should become more accessible, but everyone. Of course that's very welcome and great for people with disabilities. Among other things, these patents count the highly praised ping system from Apex Legends.
More Accessibility: EA makes patents like the Ping system from Apex Legends freely accessible
Commitment to positive games: EA continues to hedge its image and officially announces in a press release that as part of the commitment to positive games, all patents and technologies will be released, which have something to do with accessibility.
This will not only be more accessible to everyone. EA also wants to encourage other developers to develop new features that make video games inclusive.
A total of 5 patents EA thus releases. The most famous of this should be the ping system from Apex Legends. This is known to enable very fast, direct communication with people, as far as possible, whether they may have voice, hearing or other perception restrictions.
Another technical solution turns, for example, for color vision or color blindness and problems with brightness or contrast in digital content. For this purpose, EA directly provides an open license for the source code. This means that the technology can not be easily installed directly in other titles, but that all at will continue to work on it and improve or expand it.
