After Wolfsburg's change error: Münster puts a protest - KICKE

After a bumpy season preparation with five defeats from five test matches, Mark Van Bommel has also experienced a bitter compulsory match debut as a coach of the VfL Wolfsburg - and had a corresponding share of it.

Although VFL sat with much trouble after renewal of the Regionalligist Prussia Münster on Sunday (3: 1), but because Van Bommel in the extension surely undertaken - and he obviously has not been held after consultation with the referee's spark - threatens the Wolfsburgers subsequently the DFB Cup.

"We offered a highly favored Champions League participant in a gripping and passionately guided cup game and forced the VfL Wolfsburg with the support of our fans into the extension," says sport director Peter Niemeyer. "With the inadmissible change, our guest then influenced the game decisively to our unfavorable."

The DFB informed that the sports court is now in a first step involved and ask for opinions. "According to the existence and evaluation of the comments, the sports court will decide on the further progress of the procedure."

For Münster it is about 250,000 euros

Van Bommel, the VfL managing director Jörg Schmadtke strengthened his back on Monday, had banned a sixth change in the extension. Such a such was allowed at this year's EM and is still in the European Cup, but not in the DFB Cup. "During the game, five players may be exchanged. An additional replacement for games with extension is not permitted," says competition's implementation rules.

For Münster, which had only cashed in the 90th minute, it is also about cash: every club in the 2nd round can count on this DFB-Cup season with a premium of 257,514 euros.
